Old Post WarningThis was written over 2 years ago and may be out of date.
The Konami Code is a sequences of keystrokes that is typically used to reveal a hidden feature of a website, often called an “Easter egg.” It’s kind of cool if you’re a little geeky or if you really like Where’s Waldo, I SPY, or other books where you get to see stuff that others don’t. It’s also a techie way to participate in April Fool’s Day shenanigans.
The Konami Code:
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, “Start” button
(not case-sensitive, keyboards replace “Start” with “Enter” or don’t require it at all)
KonamiCodeSites.com requires the Konami Code to see its content, which lists websites that have implemented the Konami Code.
The Konami Code is shown above, but the phrase “Konami Code” applies to any code that reveals a hidden feature, often used for video game cheat codes. This means that any sequence of keystrokes could be used to reveal a single or multiple Easter eggs.
How to Add the Konami Code (Easter egg) to your website
As of this writing, I have not implemented the Konami Code into this site, but here are some resources for you to do this fun trick:

Konami Code Easter Egg Examples
Here are some Konami Code Easter eggs from popular sites. Most were from 2009, but they’re still fun to remember and can provide inspiration. Implement one yourself and maybe your Konami Code Easter egg will go viral!
